Founded by John D. Skelton, MA, CPIM, Strategic Inventory Management is located in Ajax, Ontario, Canada, just east of the city of Toronto.
John attended Trent University in Peterborough, Ontario, where he earned his Honours B.A. in Economics. From Trent, he moved on to McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, where he worked as a Teaching Assistant while earning his Masters Degree in Economics, with specialization in the area of Industrial Organization. A strong proponent of lifelong learning through continuing education, John constantly updated his skill set by attending courses at both Seneca and Durham Colleges in a wide variety of disciplines, including Financial Accounting and computer software applications.
John has served as an Instructor in the Supply Chain and Logistics program at triOS College in Toronto, Canada from 2013 to 2018, and is currently a Professor of Supply Chain, Operations and Logistics Management at Durham College in Oshawa. John has been an active member of APICS, The Association for Operations Management (now the ASCM), since 1995. Achieving his CPIM (Certification in Production and Inventory Management) in 1999, he has served on the APICS - Durham Chapter Board of Directors as Vice President, Strategic Planning and Vice President, Marketing and is a Past President. He has served as an Associate Instructor in the CPIM program, teaching Master Planning of Resources and Strategic Management of Resources.
